I have always been fascinated by the multitude of ways in which speakers make use of language and derive meaning in different domains of their day to day lives. I have done my PhD in Applied Linguistics from University of Hyderabad. My doctoral research focuses on understanding what aspects of cultural and linguistic meaning are hard-coded as opposed to derived during taboo discussions, particularly with reference to euphemistic use of language.
